In the unit on water, students will learn the following information: water molecules stick together, and when two drops of water barely touch each other they form one drop. They will see how water can make paper move, experience why some items sink while other ones float. Students will also see how a baggie of water acts like a lens.
Enrichment activities are offered at the end of each experiment. They will encourage students to see if they will get different or similar results if they use more or less of the materials, or if the weight of an object will make a difference. Students will see first-hand if using different materials will yield varying results. They will also be encouraged to try to separate water drops and will be amazed on what water can hold together.
