In the Gravity unit the following information is taught: gravity is a force that pulls down on everything, straight down to the center of the earth. students will learn what the center of gravity is, and what mass is and how gravity effects it. They will even experience different ways to change the center of gravity (the center of balance).
Enrichment activities are offered at the end of each experiment. They will encourage students to see if they will get similar or different results by changing positions of objects, or by using different objects. Students will be asked to try experiments again, this time taking away one of the initial needed materials. Results may vary, or they may not. What will happen when they try conducting the same experiment on a different surface? Students will also be encouraged to have their own contest of which items will fall faster (they’ll love this one!)
